El Callejon de Los Milagros in McAllen

We stayed across the street at the Embassy. It was super convenient just to walk into the shopping center and we run strait into this Festive looking restaurant, El Callejon De Los Milagros ('The Alley of Miracles')! It's a loud, festive, environment. The service is super polite. We chose to sit in the patio to enjoy the city lights and passerby's. There's a lot of foot traffic to enjoy between the Convention Center, hotels and the Shopping Center. The food is a Tex-Mex Cuisine; The platters are heavily served; you wont go hungry in here! We started with the an appetizer that had a little bit of everything on the appetizer menu and we got full! It was REALLY late when we walked in but i think we'll go back again to see if we can get the full experience next time! Either way, It was a nice cherry on top to my wife's and my night!

I have been here multiple times. Their fajitas are good. I love those mashed black beans they serve with the nachos. They don’t mind bringing you seconds...Price is steep for a Mexican restaurant. But, you are paying for good food, great time, and clean themed decor. The adult mixed drinks are very popular. They have someone playing live music which adds to the evening dinner date experience. I recommend sharing a plate, they are well served!

This is the place that introduced me to Pulpo! It was a succulent, whole grilled 🐙, bursting with flavor. However, this time I ordered just the carnitas del pulpo, and it was over-cooked and tough. The waitress was super sweet, but service was extremely slow both times I've dined here. Not a plcae to go when you're in for a quick bite! With many open tables, the hostess didn't even acknowledge me when I entered, and took time to finish her cell phone activity before considering to seat me. Interior decor is aesthetically appeasing, with some cute Spanish quotes painted on the walls. There is outdoor seating available, and it's conveniently located in a strip with many other restaurants, and walking distance from hotels. I will try this place one more time, and perhaps update my review.

Nice place to have a beer and good Mexican food. A little bit noisy but a good experience in general.

Didnt like the tasteless meat.Sorry but that's my opinion. Had to add lots of lemon on my fajitas....

Good ambiance, food was decent, and since there was hardly anyone there we got served right away but this also resulted in being stared at a bit too much by the servers. A bit more space would have gone a long way.

The food and service were very good.

Well where should i begin. Took over and hour for food to arrive. Ordered fluatas and they came out over fried and dry. Another guest's burger was lukewarm and fries cold. Our drinks were wrong and over priced. Dont recommend.

It's ok. Service for us could've been a lot better starting with the host continuing with the server then the bar drinks. Alot to be desired. The manager finished with a BANG! of good customer service, thank you! Try it, im not sure if "i'll be back"

chips and salsa is great, I ordered molcehete for the second time and it was not good as the first time at all they just cook it outside the lava bowl and think that people stupid and won’t find out about that! Please be consistent and don’t ever do that !!

Located near the town center where the Convention center and performing arts halls are located. The eatery had no wait and options to accommodate large groups if needed. If you do margaritas, stay on the rocks. There are no machines for frozen here.

Restaurant looks good, but when ordered our food it was disappointing. The corn had a really awful sour bitter nasty taste to it. Turned out some ingredient was expired! Not worth $4.99! It’s suppose to be a appetizer and we got it with our food. That’s a BIG NO, NO! Then we started on the panchos and it had a lot of chips in the middle to make it look like it had a lot of meat. It had more beans than anything. Very little to no cheese. This was not worth $16.99! It was a really awful experience. I would not recommend this place at all. Not worth the menu prices!

WORSE experience ever!!! They Took forever to take our drink orders, and then they were wrong. The Mar n Tierra plate was a joke. Only 2 shrimps as you can see in the picture. Had to be asking waiter for water, lemons, tortillas and salsa. Waiter knew we were not happy with food and service and didn't bother to tell manager, which he was in front of laptop behind our table the whole night. We asked for coffee later and it was ridiculous cold. The crepas we ordered were hard to chew and there was a little, tiny ice cream spoon size, melted. A HORRIBLE experience. We will NEVER go there again.

This place used to be a great place to dine and worth paying their high prices but the quality of their food is very poor now. Their food portions are very small especially their meat plates. I received the fajita norteno and it was so small that they looked like crumbs. Disappointing.

Excellent courtesy performance from the whole staff . Great entertainment music and marriachi ! The food was delicious 😋 ! The environment was awesome ! Me and my girlfriend were so comfortable and enjoyed the whole we were there. Definitely we would come back !

No one answers, no website, no online menu. So much technology and they can’t even do the basics. Not asking for an app just an online menu so I can order food over the phone.

My dad made reservations 2 weeks ago for a party of 20 and paid $100 deposit. We had the worst service! Everyone's food was cold and we never saw our waiter after a while. But they still got their gratuity! The manager was rude and unprofessional. Never again.

This is one of the worst Mexican food restaurant I ever been. A group of coworkers went to eat at this place. They took about an hour and ten minute to get our food. It got to the point that we have to order our food to go. At the end they charged 15% tip. Very unethically we all felt that they stole our money. The food was dry, frozen vegetables, and bad presentation.

It was okay. First time I came here. Very expensive. I ordered my Chile Relleno Anogado but the order did not come with Rice and Beans like in Don Pepes Restaurant. They need to add some Rice and Beans in their orders on Certain foods. Last time I come here.

Absolutely a must stop in McAllen, TX. Our last time here was 2 years ago. We definitely had to make sure to stop by again. If you want to indulge in great Mexican food you have to try out a Molcajete!! We ordered the Molcajete Milagroso which was a combination of beef and chicken fajitas with nopales, avocado and a spicy sauce. You must try the sauce, you can also order on the side. We also ordered their Alitas del Callejon!! I must say they are super spice & hot!! Absolutely our favorite! Aside from great food the environment is so enjoying. There is live music from Mariachis to a band playing. Don't forget the Mango Margarita or the cerveza!! Stop by you will have a great time!

Some really Original Mexican dishes. Nice atmosphere. I enjoyed the live music from the Mariachi's. I was a little disappointed that they didn't know how to pour a whiskey neat, but that's okay. The fact that they offered to Macallen 12 as an option was good. Overall it was a very good dining experience.

Paid $71 for 2 parrilladas for 4 people... I’m not sure whether to laugh or be angry... 2 flour tortillas and 3 honestly sub par corn tortillas. Fajita was very good, everything else looks to have been done in a hurry. Drove 8.5 hours from Dallas, to the valley to have Mexican food with my parents. Called for 15min to try and get this resolved but it looks like the phones been left off the hook. Big let down. Go elsewhere.Update 2/11/20Parents ordered a parrillada for 3, got what you’d get elsewhere for 2 people. At least this time they gave us enough tortillas for 3 people. Can’t complain about the food quality, it’s good.

Great Mexican food and service. Tye live music is amazing. I recommend a parrillada for 2. You can feed four people and you get a taste of everything.

Requested to be seated outside, thinking it was more common with the whole 6 feet apart, and the tablez had to be wiped down, tables had to be separated. A little extra wait tkme bug the chalupas were delish.

Oh man the food is SO GOOD! They had a live band playing all kinds of music on a Saturday night: so fun! Great service too. Definitely better if u go with a group whether small or large that way the expenses can be shared. A lot of food is served 👍

The place is dirty. Watched a server cut limes with no gloves. They had a huge bin full of chips and they put it on top of one of those industrial plastic trash cans like you'd see at a school or warehouse to server them from.

Our 2nd visit. It was ok. A bit over priced... but I guess everywhere we go now a days is overpriced.

Quality of food was good but alcoholic drinks are not like before. Drinks have too much ice and not enough alchohol nor flavor.
